IRL NFT

I don’t like NFTs. They just seem like a finance bro plot to exploit artists and their fans while giving them nothing in return.

There have been a couple times when I almost made a set of NFTs just to see how they worked but I never got that into it.

Instead of making a proper NFT I settled on making an action figure of one out of cement, since that seemed equally worthless.

I put together a waste mold out of clay and poured concrete in it. It was not a great combination. I forgot that clay and cement stick to each other pretty good so there was a lot of cleaning up to do. Should have used an oil base clay.

All cleaned up and still nothing fancy.

I sized it to fit in the 2.5” x 4.5” blisters I had and designed a backing card for it.

Could have possibly been a little busier, but not by much. Matrix graphics are still great.

Before I put it all together I brushed a latex mold onto the finished cement. This way I could make a bunch of them because once these babies hit the market the stock jockeys will be fighting over them. Even so, it was so simple to make it from a waste mold that I’d probably just make a stamp so I could knock out as many as I need.

Fits right in on a toy rack.
