When COVID shut the world down there was ample time to pursue things on the periphery. Making bootleg action figures combined many of my interests including graphic design, sculpting, painting and wearing jewelers glasses.
This is the first figure my wife and I made together. She’s kind of a nut so it’s not surprising she came up with this Princess Bride concept. I had some leftover hot wheels backing cards and blisters that made great packaging for a single peanut. Mash up of Seal Team Six and the greatest wildlife film star the world has ever known. Found this figure of a guy on a suitcase and am still confused as to who could have successfully pitched it . sculpted a puffy jacket and painted him up to be Del .This figure was a mostly bald guy reading a paper. Because that’s a fun toy for children. Gave him some hair and painted him up to be Neal. Painted this GI Joe to be a mashup of Kiss Army and a Marine Corps campaign from the 70s. Cut off these Barbie arms and made this Robin Ward look alike from the first episode of The Boys. So gross. My brother gave me this insane book. No idea what this figure was from but he needed a pretty extensive overhaul to become Marc MacYoung.
