I really love doing things from the comfort of the couch in my living room. Especially if I can do it with a blanket over my legs like an old person.
This first video is for a song called Blind Tinder from a band I started called BroWave.
I made the music for the track on GarageBand in about an hour and then sent it and the song title to my collaborator Alex Kenoyer. While he wrote and recorded the lyrics I used the camera on my phone to record some scenes from Amazon’s huge catalogue of 1970s foreign horror/thriller movies as they played on my laptop. It took Alex about an hour to finish and send back the vocal tracks and me another hour to throw together the video and mix his tracks into the song. I’m pretty happy with how this evening of goofing off on my phone turned out.
This second video I made with my band Musical Robot.
The goal was to turn out a music video of all original footage in a day. Our planned location fell through because of snow. Fortunately, one of the museums I work at, a house museum from the 1800s, was closed due to a parade so we went over and shot it there.
It took about two hours to shoot and then I went home to edit the footage with the scratch track. The rest of the band had the job of recording the finished track. It took a few hours of editing but I finished the video before sunset, so, mission accomplished.
