My wife Donna makes awesome collage art that I’m a huge fan of. I was looking at one of my favorite pieces of hers that looks exactly like this-
-when I realized that it would look awesome blown up on an unfinished wall in our bathroom.
We’d always wanted to try some wheat paste wall mural stuff so I blocked in the colors with paint.
Fun fact: when you paint a wall in your house red it’s hard not to freak out about it the first day!
I scanned the girl from the 10″x 10″ original and cleaned her up and enlarged her to fit.
Donna painted the girl with matte medium on both sides and let it dry before one final coat on the backside that worked as an adhesive to stick it to the wall.
I finished it out by building a frame around it.
We had such a good time working on this one and our bathroom is way more fun than it used to be.
